Wayne Rooney has all but confirmed his departure from Everton to join MLS side DC United.
Rooney posted an image of himself on Twitter jetting off to the states, bringing to an end his brief second spell back at Everton.
The former England captain is expected to sign a two-and-a-half year deal with DC United worth around $13 million.

He is expected to be unveiled as a DC United player this weekend, though he will only formally join the club when the MLS transfer window re-opens on July 10.
Rooney could then make his debut against Vancouver Whitecaps on July 14 - the day before the World Cup final - when DC United formally open their new new 20,000-seat Audi Field stadium.
