Jordan Pickford made his World Cup debut yesterday for England in a 2-1 win over Tunisia.

  • Pickford had precious little to do except a penalty he got his fingertips to. [RBM]
  • Idrissa Gueye will make his tournament debut today as Senegal take on Poland [RBM].

On to the transfer news, and there were some interesting rumours circulating yesterday.

  • The Blues are being linked with a big money move for one of the most exciting young defenders in European football. [RBM]
  • The strife at Sporting Lisbon means winger Gelson Martins is going to be available. [Telegraph]
  • There’s something odd going on with this German striker, with Hannover saying a bid has been lodged from Everton but the Blues saying they haven’t. [RBM]
  • German defender Marvin Plattenhardt to Everton is a done deal apparently. [Daily Star, via HITC]
  • The latest episode of ‘1,000 And Counting’ is a great one featuring Romelu Lukaku and Ross Barkley goals. [EFC]
