Marco Silva has only been in the Everton job 24 hours but already he has been linked with a transfer worth up to £25m.
Sky Sports News reports that the Toffees are “leading the race” for Norwich midfielder James Maddison.
Liverpool, Tottenham, Manchester City and Southampton have also been credited with an interest in the England U21 international.
Norwich would be loathed to lose Maddison, but with parachute payments coming to an end this summer the club may come under financial pressure to sell.

It is believed Norwich would be looking for between £20-25m for the 21-year-old, who won the club’s Player of the Year award last season and was named in the PFA Team of Year.
It isn’t the first time Everton have been credited with an interest in Maddison so there may well be something in the rumours.
On the face of it the former Coventry midfielder is just the sort of young, hungry up-and-coming talent we should be looking to bring in.

But do we really need ANOTHER number 10? Even with the expected departure of Wayne Rooney the Toffees are well stocked in that position.
If we do sign Maddison then it would immediately raise doubts over the futures of the likes of Davy Klaassen and Nikola Vlasic.
Or maybe Silva would look to play Maddison slightly deeper as a box-to-box midfielder, linking defence and attack?
No-one is going to be disappointed if we bring someone like Maddison in - the ageing squad needs refreshing with young talent.
However, I just hope it doesn’t compromise the club’s ability to strengthen other positions over the summer that more urgently need addressing.
