Monday’s Toffee Bites: Is Shaqiri’s move to Everton inevitable?

In today’s news: Big Sam is mad at the fans, the fans are made at Big Sam and everyone loves Tosun!

I’ve become conditioned to be underwhelmed by Everton’s rumoured transfer targets. But it’s hard to argue that adding Xherdan Shaqiri would be pretty darn exciting. He was basically the only dangerous player on that entire Stoke City team. Obviously, he wasn’t able to keep them up, but he could thrive in an Everton team with much more talent.

Of course, that brings about the question “Where does he fit?” He has experience as a winger and as the main attacking threat up the middle. Everton have recently added players in all of those roles and they won’t have European football next year to get minutes for everyone. That’s not my problem to solve. He has a reasonable release clause and would make the squad better. Competition within the team should only improve Everton on a week-to-week basis.
