Despite a long-term injury that saw him miss much of the season for Anderlecht, on-loan Everton forward Henry Onyekuru has continued to be coveted across Europe.
Anderlecht want him back for another season, Borussia Mönchengladbach are interested in his services, and now reports out of Turkey indicated that Onyekuru is being pursued by Cenk Tosun’s old club, Besiktas.
Everton starlet Henry Onyekuru has been made a transfer priority by Besiktas.
A source close to the club revealed to Turkish-Football that the Nigeria international has been added to the shortlist – alongside several other players.
What the report doesn’t make clear is whether or not Besiktas are interested in a loan or permanent deal, but it seems likely that Everton would not be open to selling one of their prized assets so soon - particularly with him never having suited up at Goodison Park.
Another loan for the Nigerian could be advantageous for all parties, especially considering Onyekuru still needs to acquire a work permit. Everton are pretty set in the attacking positions for now, and another year of experience abroad for Henry could see him burst onto the scene in 2019-20.
