The final whistle yesterday as Everton meekly capitulated at West Ham United was a great relief. It really didn’t matter whether we won or lost, all that mattered was that the miserable season was finally over.

Sam Allardyce’s post-match comments weren’t necessarily indicative of his future, but contained enough spiky ripostes to make things uncomfortable for all. So now we wait to see what happens next.
