Expectations are rather low for Everton in this weekend’s derby. That’s fair. What have the Blues shown this season that would lead anyone to believe they are close to Liverpool’s level? That said, the Reds have very little to gain from this matchup. Their spot in the top four is quite safe while they do still need to get past Manchester City in the Champions League next week. Perhaps this is the Toffees’ best shot at a win in the near future? That will just make the inevitably loss even more crushing.
