What could be the possible benefit of bringing Gylfi Sigurdsson back into the Everton team this season? There is no doubt that the Icelandic midfielder will be in the Toffees plans for 2018-19, but he has more important things to do than play for a middling Everton side.

The World Cup is fast approaching. Let Sigurdsson rest and rehab until Iceland’s team meets to prep for Russia. The friendlies they set up will be plenty to get him up to speed for the tournament. Putting Gylfi into another Premier League match this season would be foolish.
