Everton will listen to offers for Wayne Rooney as part of a summer overhaul, reports the Mirror.

Rooney made an emotional return to Goodison Park last summer after electing to bring his time at Manchester United to an end.

He enjoyed a strong start to the campaign, scoring on his debut in the opening day defeat of Stoke City as well as bagging a goal in the 1-1 draw with Manchester City at the Etihad.

Like Everton, though, he has often struggled for his best form and has often been found out against the bigger sides in important games.

He remains the Blues top goalscorer with 11 goals in all competitions but the Mirror claims they are willing to listen to offers for him regardless.

They report that the coaching staff at Finch Farm have been left unimpressed with Rooney and believe that despite his commitment to the cause he has not fulfilled expectations.

Whether Rooney would be willing to leave remains to be seen having previously indicated he would like to end his career at Everton.

He did have offers from China and MLS before returning to Goodison Park, though, and is likely to have them on the table again should it become clear he has no future on Merseyside.
