We all know the age-old question — what happens when an unstoppable force meets and immovable object? I’m not sure exactly what the inverse of this question is, but it surely is embodied by Everton’s upcoming match against Swansea City.
Swansea is, well, not very good — but Everton is playing Carlos Carvalhal’s club away from Goodison Park, where the Toffees have been downright miserable over the last two seasons. So, our predictions this week essentially ask the question: “Which do we think is worse — Swansea’s general form, or Everton’s away form?”
Before we look ahead to this week’s match though, let’s review our predictions from last week’s Merseyside Derby, where Everton took a point against Liverpool.
Liverpool Predictions

Adam | Milner | Walcott | Liverpool | 2-1 | 0 |
Brian F. | Firmino | Davies | Liverpool | 3-0 | 0 |
Brian L. | Walcott | Davies | Liverpool | 4-1 | 0 |
Calvin | Tosun | Tosun | Draw | 2-2 | 2 |
Chris | Oxlade-Chamberlain | Pickford | Liverpool | 4-0 | 1 |
Matt | Salah | Coleman | Liverpool | 3-1 | 0 |
Mike | Salah | Rooney | Liverpool | 3-1 | 0 |

Tom | Baines | Rooney | Everton | 2-1 | 0 |
Tyler | Tosun | Walcott | Draw | 2-2 | 2 |
Zach | Woodburn | Pickford | Draw | 1-1 | 3 |
Four writers predicted a draw as the final outcome, though none foresaw a scoreless finish. Jordan Pickford was voted Everton man of the match, earning a bonus point for Chris, Sean, and Zach.
These results once again tightened things up at the top of the prediction league table.

Calvin closed the gap atop the table, leaving us with a tie for pole position. The rest of us continue to languish in well behind Calvin and Mike.
This week’s predictions are substantially more positive than last week’s, as our writers seem confident (for whatever reason) that the Toffees will shake their generally poor away form.

Seven writers are predicting a rare Everton away win, with the other four votes split evenly between a draw and a Swansea win. The first scorer and man of the match predictions are completely dominated by Cenk Tosun — the Turk got eight votes for first goalscorer and seven for Everton man of the match.
