Whoever has been working the Argentina beat from Everton’s international scouting department has certainly been busy the last few months. After getting the Blues to make a move for fullback Frank Fabra of Boca Juniors, the next name that has come up is that of San Lorenzo centerhalf Marcos Senesi.

The Italian sports publication Corriere dello Sport are reporting that there a handful of clubs in for the player, not the least of whom are Inter Milan, AS Roma, Fiorentina, Sevilla, Celta Vigo and Tottenham Hotspur as well as the Toffees. Thanks to Sport Witness, this story is now back in the forefront after we had all missed it over a week ago.

The multi-talented 20-year-old is left-footed and prefers to play on the left side of central defence, but appears to be equally comfortable playing all across the backline, including three-center-back formations as well.

Tottenham snapped up his international teammate Juan Foyth during last summer’s transfer window, and are said to be interested in Senesi as well. Meanwhile, Inter are reportedly looking to throw money to fix all sorts of holes throughout the squad.

Interestingly, the youngster has dual citizenship and has been cleared to play for Italy as well, so a move to Europe would not go as a non-EU signing. Very little else is known about the defender other than he has featured in nine games for San Lorenzo and scored in one of those, and that his current contract is expiring in the end of the 2019-20 season.
