Everton’s scouting department has quite a few failures on the board lately when it comes to signing big money transfer targets. It seemed, for a while at least, that Cenk Tosun was set to be another one of those failures. But things have turned dramatically.

Prior to the international break, Tosun was scoring goals for fun with the Blues. Everyday there is a new story about teammates believing in the striker. He’s even inspiring his in-team competition (Dominic Calvert-Lewin). All signs are points towards Tosun being a good player and a better person. He was a Sam Allardyce signing. For once, big Sam got something right.
