Everton needed to get back on track and did exactly that against a poor Brighton & Hove Albion side that appeared terrified to commit too many men upfront. The Blues won 2-0, thanks to an own goal under pressure from Theo Walcott and a fine finish from Cenk Tosun for his first Goodison Park goal, and the Blues could even afford to watch Wayne Rooney have his penalty saved.
