Everton aren’t a whole lot of fun to watch right now, and it’s all being done with known commodities. Why? Because the manager is fighting for his job and wants to show that he is more than just a relegation battler. That’s not good for Everton.
We already know about Cuco Martina and Oumar Niasse. Show us Luke Garbutt and Cenk Tosun. Ademola Lookman has a ton of skill. Now he’s going to get minutes in Germany rather than for an Everton team with little to play for this season. Morgan Schneiderlin has been a disappointment. Give Beni Baningime some time on the pitch.
Everton need to understand who they are and where they stand. For this season, they are a mediocre team, but they have potential. However, that potential will never be unlocked if Sam Allardyce continues to play the same old veterans because they are safer. Take some risks, Sam. They might pay off.
