Everton return to Premier League action today, playing the later game of the day away at Watford FC. There’s been some bad blood lately between the two clubs, with the Blues first getting a great comeback win at Goodison Park earlier this season, and then the Toffees approaches for then-manager Marco Silva. The Hornets attributed their subsequent slide to the destabilizing factor of Everton’s interest in Silva, and will be out to get a measure of revenge.
The Blues meanwhile could end up tomorrow in seventh place where they finished last season if results go their way. It’ll be an impressive resurrection of what has otherwise been an abomination of a season so far if Everton somehow manage to end the current season just outside the top six, if only in position but well adrift on points.
Then there’s also the factor for former Blues Gerard Deulofeu and Tom Cleverley playing for the Hornets, though only Deulofeu is expected to play.
