Get the rumour mill spinning!
Noticeably absent from the Everton warm weather training camp in Dubai last week was beleaguered midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin, and during his pre-match press conference today manager Sam Allardyce shone some light on why he didn’t make the trip.
“Unfortunately, Morgan had to go back to France because of a family problem so didn’t actually travel to Dubai.
“So since he’s got back he’s been training with the lads, and I think like every professional he’ll accept that what he’s got to do is when he gets the opportunity to play, he plays to his very best, which we know is good enough to play in the Premier League.
“His previous record when he first arrived at Everton, what he did at Southampton particularly, I think it’s one of those things you’ve got to change people’s opinions by performing at your best. Let your football do your talking.”
That did appear to be a vote of confidence for the Frenchman, but with him missing the Dubai trip and how well the Blues played the last game out, it’s unlikely he makes the starting lineup for tomorrow either.
