Everton buried Crystal Palace with three goals in the second half, starting right from the whistle.

Gylfi Sigurdsson opened the scoring within a minute of play resuming, his shot from outside the box might have taken a slight deflection but it went past the goalie’s despairing fingertips.

The Blues have always looked sparked up when taking the lead at home, and soon scored again as they ran freely against a shocked Palace side.

Jonjoe Kenny kept the ball alive with a deep cross, with Sigurdsson setting up Cuco Martina for another delightful cross that Oumar Niasse headed home easily. Niasse got incredible leverage leaning back and heading that ball powerfully back against the goalie’s dive.

With the Eagles now sustaining pressure in the Toffees’ half, Kenny set Niasse up with a shot that was saved, but Sigurdsson cut back the rebound from the byline and it came up at waist height for Tom Davies rushing in to volley sidefooted home, 3-0!
