Final Verdict
Everton received their just rewards for their attacking endeavour in this game. They did ride their luck at times in the first half, but started off the second with guns blazing and two quick goals had the game mostly out of Palace’s reach.
The third was a nice bonus as Everton did not completely retract into a defensive shell with the lead, and were unfortunate to spoil the clean sheet with the late penalty. The Blues hung in there though and were the better team, and had a deserved 3-1 win.
