After a gut-wrenching late loss in the Merseyside Derby, Everton have a chance to put that behind them quickly with a midweek game. Newcastle United come to Goodison Park on Wednesday night after seeing their recent renaissance come to a grinding halt when they were beaten 3-0 at home by West Ham United over the weekend.
Marco Silva is expected to ring in the changes as he looks to keep the squad’s legs fresh with another game coming up on Monday and the Toffees playing on an average of every four days this month.
However, Silva will be wary of bringing in too many new faces after that selection policy bit him hard in the League Cup loss on penalties against Southampton a couple of months ago. He does appear to have an almost full squad to choose from - Ademola Lookman is fully fit again, but Morgan Schneiderlin has picked up and a knock and James McCarthy is still lacking match fitness after his long layoff.
