Your daily dose of Everton news and rumors
Yesterday was a pretty busy day with Marco Silva’s pre-match press conference bringing up a number of talking points, as well as the regular transfer rumours picking up steam now that the January transfer window is merely days away.
Here’s a quick summary of all the things Silva spoke about yesterday: the ‘race-tinged’ chant Blues are singing about Yerry Mina [RBM], the manager’s thoughts on Everton’s new stadium capacity and what it says about the club’s ambition [RBM], his plans on how to beat Spurs and make the top six [RBM], and a squad update on who is fit again and who might be headed out in January [RBM]
Silva’s countryman Jose Mourinho got the boot this week at Manchester United, and the Everton manager sympathized with him. [Telegraph]
The Blues will be headed back to East Africa next summer to play in the SportPesa Trophy final like they did two summers ago. [EFC]
Everton made their annual holiday visit to Alder Hey a few days ago, but here is goalkeeper Jordan Pickford’s account of the festive trip. [Sport 360]
The big transfer rumour from yesterday is that Paris St. Germain are keeping a close eye on Idrissa Gueye, with a view to making a move for him in the winter transfer window. [RBM]
The Oumar Niasse leaving Everton saga goes on and on, with Fenerbahce and Cardiff City the teams in the market for him, apparently. [HITC]

What To Watch
There’s a pretty full schedule of Premier League games today, with eight fixtures on the cards and Everton taking on Tottenham Hotspur at Goodison Park on Sunday. There’s also a full slate of action across Europe as most other leagues near their customary winter breaks.
The FIFA Club World Cup is coming to a close, and Kashima Antlers take on River Plate in the third place playoff while Real Madrid play surprise side Al Ain in the final.
