Final whistle - Even when Everton seemed fully in control, they somehow contrived to throw it away at the death. Heartbreaking loss.
94’ - Somehow, like it always happens, Everton have blown it, or Liverpool have stolen it. A miskick from van Dijk is parried onto the bar by Pickford, and Origi is on hand to head it in. Goal, game over. Everton that, isn’t it?
What just happened?!

Origi scores a stoppage time goal and Klopp runs onto the pitch! pic.twitter.com/ZbmPWsBPSM
90’ - Sigurdsson off now, Kurt Zouma on. The Icelander just got a yellow card before that, likely for complaining a bit too much after a challenge.
88’ - Now Gomes going in the book for a foul. The freekick is swung over and goes out.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin on for the Blues, Bernard coming off.
87’ - Liverpool catch Everton out on the counter, and Coleman’s sliding challenge blocks Mane’s attempt.
Origi hits the bar from a rebound after the corner! Was he offside? Not called and the ball is scrambled away! Was there a handball too on the block by Sigurdsson? Not given!
84’ - Surprise substitution for the Reds, with Divock Origi coming on for Firmino. The Belgian hasn’t played since the opening day of the season.
81’ - Richarlison now hauled down on a break and Joe Gomez gets a yellow card. Freekick is easily cleared away and the Blues have some defending to do on a quick counter attack.
77’ - Fabinho clatters his countryman Richarlison and is now in the book too.
75’ - Keita is now on for Shaqiri, and a couple of minutes later Salah goes off for Daniel Sturridge.
65’ - Lookman already making a mazy run and finds Bernard, but his shot to far post is well wide.
Liverpool counterattack and the ball fizzes across the six yard box, but no one touches it.
63’ - Silva makes the first substitution, with Ademola Lookman on for Walcott.
60’ - Everton are sitting back like they did at Chelsea. Much more dangerous tactic against Liverpool than against Chelsea.
55’ - Walcott is down, looks to be an ankle/calf issue, off the pitch now receiving treatment.
Ademola Lookman is warming up.
53’ - Whoa! Keane with the mistake here, allows Mane through and Pickford races out to narrow the angle, and the striker slides it wide.
46’ - Second half underway, with Everton attacking the away fans end, and Liverpool going towards the Kop.
The Blues were late out again, like at home against Cardiff City too. Noc hanges to either side.
Halftime - Somehow it’s still 0-0, with both teams getting a number of very good chances. The goalkeepers have been excellent on either end, but Marco Silva is going to have to address the number of giveaways the Blues have committed.
45+1’ - Mina holds off Mo Salah but the ref oddly calls for a foul. TAA swings that in and it’s cleared away. Phew.
43’ - One a week where Tanguy Ndombele is being talked about, Gueye’s turnover-strewn performance today is not helping his case.
41’ - Everton trying to get to halftime it looks like now, coordination is better but turnovers are still a problem.
34’ - Gueye with a terrible giveaway, and Shaqiri is through on goal.. Pickford with an incredible 1-on-1 save!
And then Theo Walcott is through on goal, and Alisson does just enough to prevent a shot!
33’ - Bernard’s tenaciousness steals the ball from Xherdan Shaqiri, who hauls him down and gets the first booking of the game.
25’ - Much, much better spell for the Blues, holding the ball and stringing some passes together.
Like at Arsenal and Manchester United, they have created chances with attacking play, but need to convert to make that count.
21’ - Everton could not have come closer to scoring! Fantastic move sees Walcott head across the box, Gomes’ diving header is parried by Alisson Becker, and Gomez slides in to clear off the line!! Oh my word.
20’ - Mane somehow doesn’t get a yellow card after controlling the ball quite intentionally with his arm.
18’ - Richarlison jinked his way into the box and somehow lost his footing just before he could get a shot off.
Roberto Firmino shot goes wide on the other side.
14’ - Reds swarming all over the Blues now as the away goal is under siege. Everton scrambling now and could really use a time out, or a spell on the ball to calm some nerves now.
12’ - Andre Gomes with a terrible turnover against the press and Sadio Mane is through on goal, but blazes over. Whew.
10’ - Wonderfully open game for the neutrals and purists, end-to-end action. Reds are pressing high as the Blues look to play out from the back.
8’ - Digne with a sliding challenge blocks a TAA cross after a Mina turnover. Corner cleared away.
5’ - Interesting early move there - Mina was in the Liverpool box for a deep Everton throw as well.
4’ - Trent Alexander-Arnold bundles over Bernard about 25 yards away on the left. Lucas Digne swings it in, Yerry Mina all alone and his header bounces agonizingly wide! So close, there was no flag up for offside either.
1’ - Andre Gomes gets us underway! Jordan Pickford muffs a clearance and gives up a corner, that is cleared away.
Lineups are out and they are as expected on both sides - Everton are unchanged while Liverpool overhaul their midfield three (scroll to the bottom of the page to see the full lineups)

Everton make the short hop across Stanley Park to take on Liverpool today, marking the 232nd time this fixture has taken place in history.
The Blues away record against the top six has been horrendous for the last couple of decades, and it’s been no different against the Reds. The Toffees’ last win at Anfield was in 1999, and will be looking to see if they can finally change their fortunes under Marco Silva.
Hosts Liverpool are currently second in the Premier League table while Everton are eleven points behind in sixth.
