Eventful weekend for Everton’s out-on-loan players

There was some real drama for Everton’s out-on-loan contingent this week, especially for Nikola Vlasic who helped ensure his side get an away win at one of the biggest clubs in the world.

Some other players are starting to hit some good form heading into the Christmas period too.

Below we run through all the action.

The Youngsters

Henry Onyekuru

Came off the bench at half-time in Galatasaray’s final Champions League game, a 3-2 defeat at Porto, but produced a lively display. The Turkish side will play in the Europa League Round of 32 against Benfica.

He then started against Basaksehir and looked dangerous but couldn’t get the Turkish giants all three points as they were held to a 1-1 draw.

Antonee Robinson

Out at least until January after undergoing surgery.

Callum Connolly

With Robinson injured and his deputy suspended, Connolly filled in at left-back for Wigan Athletic and made a positive impression, although they fell to a 1-0 defeat to lowly Ipswich Town.

Nikola Vlasic

Another impressive week for Vlasic, with the Croatian midfielder putting in a blinding performance (and a good assist) as CSKA blew away a weakened Real Madrid side 3-0 at the Bernabeu.

The Russian Premier League has started its winter break so Vlasic won’t see competitive action now until March.

Joe Williams

Another start in holding midfield for struggling Bolton Wanderers, but Williams was brought off for the final 10 minutes of their 1-0 defeat to Leeds United.

Matthew Pennington

Pennington started at centre-half as Ipswich earned a long-awaited win and clean sheet, beating Wigan 1-0. Still look doomed to relegation though.

The Deadwood

Ashley Williams

Played the full 90 minutes of Stoke’s 2-2 draw with Villa.

Cuco Martina

Played alongside Williams for Stoke.

Luke Garbutt

On the bench for Oxford again.

Shani Tarashaj

Injured…

Kevin Mirallas

After grabbing his first goal for Fiorentina last weekend, Mirallas was rewarded with a start for La Viola and scored their first goal in a 3-1 win over Empoli.

Mo Besic

Suspended after his red card last week.

Yannick Bolasie

Really shining at Aston Villa now as he returns to full fitness. Grabbed another excellent assist as his cross was turned in to rescue a point late-on against Stoke.

Sandro Ramirez

Started in Real Sociedad’s 1-0 defeat to Getafe, but didn’t manage a shot, let alone a goal.
