Everton host Cardiff City today as Premier League action resumes following the last international break of 2018.
The big news from Marco Silva’s pre-match press conference yesterday was that both Gylfi Sigurdsson and Andre Gomes are fit and likely to start - the pair had picked up knocks in the last game against Chelsea and did not report to their respective national teams during the international break. Ademola Lookman was injured in action for the England Under-21 team, but is also fit for selection.
The Blues have overcome a slow phase to begin the season and have put together a series of good performances to get back on track. Everton currently sit in ninth place in the Premier League table with nineteen points, with thirteen of those points coming at home from four wins, one draw and one loss.
Opponents Cardiff City have struggled in their return to the Premier League, and currently are in eighteenth place, with a poor away record of one draw and four losses from their five away games.
