It’s hard not to love Oumar Niasse as a person. He was thrown into a crap situation with a manager on the hot seat. The next man in the position had a personal vendetta against him, it seems. And now, an up-and-comer, Dominic Calvert-Lewin, has outclassed him, and the club has brought in another player, Cenk Tosun, as the experienced goalscorer Niasse hoped to be.
The Senegalese forward’s days at the club seem to be numbered. It’s a shame. He has worked his butt off to stay in the first team picture. But he deserves better than Everton have given him during his stint with the club. He deserves regular minutes with a first-team and may be able to squeak into his nation’s plans for the World Cup in the summer.
If this is the week than Niasse leaves, we all wish him good luck! He has been a tremendous servant to the club, and hopefully a few of his young Blue teammates were able to glean some of his professionalism. He won’t be a legend, but the fans at Everton will always love Oumar.
