Sky Sports have confirmed that Eliaquim Mangala will be joining Everton even though the club are yet to announce it officially. The Manchester City defender is coming over on a loan until the end of the season, and will wear the #13 shirt.
He has been wearing the #15 shirt this season but has worn the #13 when on senior international duty for France.
The number has been previously worn by goalkeepers only in the Premier League era at Everton - Iain Turner (05/06), Steve Simonsen (00/01 - 03/04), Paul Gerrard (96/97 - 99/00), Jason Kearton (95/96)
The last confirmed report we had as of 8:40pm tonight on Deadline Day was that the central defender was at Finch Farm undergoing a medical. He’s been fit this season and has featured in 15 games already, so it’s unlikely there’ll be any issues resulting from that.
Likely any delays right now are from the media team getting their intro videos and player pictures done etc, and we’ll see something sooner than later.
