Everton have no shortage of talented young attacking players in their ranks. Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Nikola Vlasic, and Ademola Lookman have all shown flashes of real ability this season, and look set for bright futures.

Part of the problem with having no shortage of young talent is that not all of them get to play as much as they should. According to a new report in the Liverpool Echo, the Blues may consider sending at least Lookman out on loan for the remainder of the season.

Everton are weighing up whether to send Ademola Lookman out on loan.

Lookman has made just five starts this season and used only 11 times off the bench.

It is understood the Blues are currently reluctant to sanction his release but have yet to make a firm decision on the forward’s short-term future.

With Aaron Lennon now at Burnley, the opportunities would seem to have increased for Lookman. Unfortunately, Everton are only in one competition for the rest of the season, so with the acquisition of Theo Walcott, minutes are likely to remain scarce.

Nikola Vlasic is not necessarily more talented than Ademola, but he is more versatile, and that’s likely to weigh into the decision made by the Everton brass as they consider who to keep on the senior squad. Lookman is a wonderfully exciting player, but remains raw around the edges.

Lookman has three goals this season, and helped set up Gylfi Sigurdsson’s equalizer in the FA Cup derby. The youngster already has a year of experience in both the Championship and League One, so if a loan materializes, you’d hope and expect it would be to another Premier League club.
