Boye-Hlorkah told Everton’s website that becoming full time at 21 after playing with Everton’s development team since she was 8 years old and then joining the first team squad at age 17 has been a “dream.”
She missed last season due to injury but has come back and played in the pre-season where Everton faced tough opponents Chelsea and Arsenal. Before her injury, she was capped in the England U-19’s.
Boye-Hlorkah discussed that being in recovery was “tough” but that she did not let injury stop her. A main motivator was knowing that Everton was going to be back in the WSL1.
“It made me work that little bit harder. Now we are here and it’s a good feeling. My teammates have always kept me going. The staff and the players have supported me throughout everything and I’m grateful to them. I couldn’t have asked for anything else.”
Congrats Chaney! We will be cheering you on! CYBG!
