Everton are going to be light on the bench for the season opener against Stoke CIty on Saturday. Ross Barkley and James McCarthy are nursing groin and knee ailments respectively and are not expected back until next weekend though both have been training lightly.
In very encouraging news for the Blues, right back Seamus Coleman is doing some intensive training work at Finch Farm after suffering a horrific double leg break just a few months ago. Nothing has been announced about his planned return, though estimates have had it as not in 2017.
Yannick Bolasie and Ramiro Funes Mori continue to recover from long term injuries while Aaron Lennon is still doubtful after being held out of the Europa League qualifier last week.
For visitors Stoke, the only players who will miss out are Stephen Ireland and Ibrahim Afellay who are both long term absentees.
Mark Hughes will have to make late fitness decisions on Bojan Krkic and Josh Tymon, while new signing Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting is nursing a calf injury.
