When FC Barcelona activated the buy-back clause of Everton’s Gerard Deulofeu, the Spanish winger was none too happy. In a World Cup year, it looked like he would be headed into a situation with little to no chance of getting significant minutes on the pitch.
In Deulofeu’s favored positions on the wing were both Lionel Messi and Neymar. However, that all might be changing.

Paris St. Germain are reportedly willing to activate Neymar’s monstrous release clause to the tune of €222 million. If all parties have agreed to the structure of such a deal, the transfer could be well on its way to completion, particularly given Neymar’s frustration at being behind Messi in the pecking order.
Such a move would not only make enormous waves in world football, but would represent a massive boost to Deulofeu’s stop-start career. The pressure would be absolutely immense, but if Geri can find any consistency, playing service into Luis Suarez can make nearly anyone look good.
For awhile, it looked like Barcelona was a poor fit for the former Everton misfit. If Neymar is off to PSG, that may no longer be the case.
