Dutch club PSV Eindhoven could lose their Colombian rightback Santiago Arias, with multiple Premier League destinations being named for the player. Media reports say that Swansea City are in pole position to sign the fullback, even though Everton, Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United have all been linked.

Unconfirmed rumour has it that the player has already spoken to the Swans, with the player wanting to make the move to the Welsh club this summer. His current contract was extended a couple of years ago and expires at the end of the 2018-19 season.

However, earlier this year he was quoted as saying -

“I have a contract until 2019 with PSV, but I am ready for the next step.

“In the summer I hope there is clarity as soon as possible. My agent knows I want to go to Germany, England or Spain and is working on that.

“But it is important that there is a sufficient prospect of playing time. If there is nothing, I’ll stay here. I’ve already played over a hundred appearances for PSV. That’s not crazy, right?”

The pacy defender has 31 international caps for Colombia, and scored two goals this season in 34 games for PSV, including a goal in the Champions League as well.

Everton are reportedly close to signing Southampton backup Cuco Martina, but Arias’ style is closer to that of Seamus Coleman, who is expected to be out for the rest of this calendar year.

Spurs are loaded at the position with Kyle Walker and Kieran Trippier, while Nathaniel Clyne is the default starter for the Reds. The Hammers just signed Pablo Zabaleta, leaving the Swans as the only contenders yet to upgrade that position.
