Sandro Ramirez passes medical, set to sign for Everton

The Spain U21 star will become the Blues’ third summer signing.

What, did you think Steve Walsh and Ronald Koeman would take the weekend off? Not so fast, my friend.

Both Paul Joyce and Dominic King are reporting that Malaga player and Barcelona product Sandro Ramirez has passed his Merseyside medical and will officially join Everton Football Club very shortly.

For the quoted £5.2 million, Sandro is an absolute steal. The 21 year old Spaniard scored 14 goals and assisted on 5 others in La Liga this season, and is set to lead the line for Spain at the U21 Euros.

In addition to being clinical in front of goal, Ramirez possesses a rocket shot from direct free kicks, something that Everton have been sorely lacking in recent years. It’s unlikely that you’ll be seeing too many more Ross Barkley attempts sent into the Gwladys End.

Everton’s summer business thus far is a startling departure from previous norms. Business is getting done early, often, and there are no secrets regarding fees or targeted players.

Do you want to be a big club? This is how you become a big club.

Sandro is highly unlikely to be the only forward brought in to Goodison Park this summer. It’ll take more than one man to replace the goals of Romelu Lukaku, and the club are still rumored to be after the likes off Carlos Bacca, Duvan Zapata, Gianluca Lapadula, and M’Baye Niang.

Stay tuned, because the summer of Everton shows no sign of slowing down.
