Everton target Jordan Pickford will make the Blues wait before deciding on a move to Goodison Park.

Ronald Koeman is thought to be in the market for a new number one this summer after he was left unimpressed by either Joel Robles or Maarten Stekelenburg.

Pickford is believed to be at the top of his wish list after his inspired performances with Sunderland in the Premier League last season.

Despite the Black Cats suffering relegation to the Championship, Pickford put in a number of top performances that caught the eye of several clubs, including Everton.

Given the widespread interest, they are likely keen to get a deal done as soon as possible as Koeman looks to shape his squad for next season’s league and European campaign.

They may not be able to do that, though, as the 23-year-old is set to make any potential suitors this summer wait until he has finished international duty.

Pickford is part of the England U21 squad heading to Poland for the European Championships and says any decision on his future will have to wait until after then.

That will come as a blow to Koeman and Everton, who are already being forced to wait on Burnley defender Michael Keane, who is holding out in hope of a return to Manchester United.
