Everton players have enjoyed some recent success on the international front, be it Ross Barkley’s England recall, Romelu Lukaku’s good form for Belgium, or Tom Davies captaining his youth side.

Ademola Lookman has been performing for his Three Lions youth side, too, despite being on the bench for the club in recent weeks. However, there was a little controversy surrounding his future status, as the Everton forward is also eligible to play for Nigeria at the senior level.

It now seems that discussion has reached its conclusion, as reports are circulating that Lookman has chosen to remain with the England national team for his senior career.

At first glance, you’d think that England would be a harder setup for Lookman to break into, however, Nigeria are absolutely loaded with young talent in their attacking ranks. The likes of Alex Iwobi, Kelechi Iheanacho, Isaac Success, Ahmed Musa, and Victor Moses would all be considered ahead of Lookman on the depth chart.

England, though, are desperate enough for attackers in the wide areas of the pitch that they’ve recently given time to players such as Andros Townsend and Nathan Redmond.

However it shakes out, we certainly wish Ademola good luck in his future England endeavors...as long as he avoids injuries, of course.
