Everton drew 1-1 against Manchester United after a last gasp penalty for the home side tied the game. Phil Jagielka’s goal had put the Blues up and a strong rearguard action almost gave the Toffees all three points, but Ashley Williams threw himself at a late shot, blocked it with his arm and was sent off - Zlatan Ibrahimovic slotted home the penalty and it was tied.
It’s unfortunate really, because Joel Robles would likely have saved the shot, but in the panic that ensued you can understand Williams’ reaction. We can only say don’t judge him too harshly because he was stellar until that point, and meant well in the end as well.
