Morgan Schneiderlin is still not fit to play and will miss out for Everton today, while fellow midfielder James McCarthy is also out indefinitely after a recurrence of his hamstring injury playing for the Republic of Ireland.

His compatriot Seamus Coleman will be out for the long term after undergoing surgery for a double leg break. Ramiro Funes Mori was scheduled to undergo knee surgery yesterday and will be out for at least six weeks. Yannick Bolasie and Muhamed Besic are also long term absentees.

The Blues came through the Merseyside Derby loss without any new ailments.

For Manchester United, Jose Mourinho will be happy to welcome back figurehead Zlatan Ibrahimovic, as well as midfielder Ander Herrera, both from suspension.

Midfielder Paul Pogba missed out over the weekend with a hamstring issue, but is expected back in the squad today.

Left back Luke Shaw, who was heavily criticized by Mourinho during his pre-match press conference yesterday, has apparently worked it out with the manager and is also expected to feature today.

Defenders Chris Smalling and Phil Jones are still out, as is Juan Mata who underwent surgery last week.
