Koeman unimpressed by Drogba comments on Lukaku

The Dutchman was in fine snark today

Ronald Koeman has had just about enough of the questions from the press every week whether Romelu Lukaku will be signing a new contract or not with Everton. In fact, he’s so over it that he’s now started being salty right back at the journalists who pepper him with the same question every time.

During the pre-match press conference today ahead of Saturday’s home fixture against Burnley, he joked about the comments former Chelsea striker Didier Drogba made regarding knowing Romelu Lukaku’s plans for his future. When Koeman was asked if Lukaku had told him about his future plans, the Dutchman said -

"No, no. He [Lukaku] told me he won't sign a new contract."

What conversations had he had with Lukaku then?

“I don’t know. Maybe I’ll wait for the call from Drogba so that he can tell me what will happen next season, I don’t know.”

Is the conversation still ongoing, or will it only be sorted out in the summer?

“I leave it now, because I can’t change that situation at the moment and it’s better to focus on the weekends and we will see what happens at the end of the season.”

Maybe the Belgian will surprise everyone and sign with the Phoenix Rising instead to play with his ‘big brother’ Drogba - after all, we know super agent Mino Raiola will do anything for the money, including misguide his wards.
