Midfielder Muhamed Bešić is slowly making his way back to full fitness after undergoing knee surgery in August. He has been working out on his own but has now resumed training with the rest of the squad.

Manager Ronald Koeman gave an update on his condition earlier today during his pre-match press conference ahead of the Everton trip to Tottenham on Sunday.

“Everybody is fit. Muhamed Besic is doing well. Today he trained for the first time 11 against 11. Of course, he needs more time, he needs game time with the Under-23s to start - but I am really happy that he is back in all of the training exercises.

“Dominic Calvert-Lewin is back [in training] and then we will have to wait a little bit longer for Yannick Bolasie.”

Besic will return to an already packed midfield where former stalwarts like Gareth Barry and James McCarthy have not had starting spots since January after the signing of Morgan Schneiderlin, the return of Idrissa Gueye and the emergence of Tom Davies.
