It’ll be referee Mike Jones in charge of Everton as they host AFC Bournemouth this weekend. This is his third Everton game of the season, having been in charge of the 3-0 win at Sunderland and the 1-2 loss away to Burnley after the that.

The Toffees have five wins and five draws in the ten games Jones has officiated, with 12 yellow cards handed out. He has booked Idrissa Gueye twice and Seamus Coleman and Gareth Barry once each in those two away games.

Jones has been referee for 13 Premier League games this term, giving out 42 yellow cards and one sending off.

Everton have seen their fair share of the ref in recent times, with the official in charge for five Blues games in the Premier League last season. Jones was in charge of the controversial 3-3 draw at Stamford Bridge in January 2016, when a missed offside call in the 98th minute gave Chelsea an equalizer and had former manager Roberto Martinez fuming about the referee’s ‘diabolical’ performance.

Aside from that fiasco though, Everton actually haven’t lost since 2011 when Jones has been officiating, ironically to Chelsea then. In the last Toffees game he refereed, he sent off midfielder James McCarthy after the player picked up his second yellow card early in the second half in a game that finished 0-0 at Selhurst Park.
