“That’s really positive, that is what we like, at least to win the games at home. I was very pleased with the first forty-five minutes. It was outstanding, we only had one goal but we had more opportunities to score.
“I wasn’t pleased about the second half because we dropped a little bit of the tempo in the game. I think we played the ball back too much instead of playing it forward.
“ We had one lucky moment in the game, of course it was the fault of the midfield [Schneiderlin losing the ball easily to create the counter attack] and it ended with a shot off the bar by Defoe, but that could have been 1-1.”
The manager went on to talk about Romelu Lukaku’s feat of tying Everton legend Duncan Ferguson on top of the club’s Premier League scorers chart, as well as tireless midfielder Idrissa Gueye who had the winning goal today with his first for the club.
