Referee Stuart Attwell is going to be in charge for Everton against Sunderland this weekend at Goodison Park. He has previously officiated one other Toffees game this season, a 2-0 win away at Leicester City, a game in which he kept his cards in his pocket as far as any Blues were concerned.
He has been referee for six Everton games in total, which have resulted in three wins and three draws. Attwell has sent off one Toffee, with Kevin Mirallas being handed a straight red last season away at Swansea City, just a minute after replacing Ross Barkley late in a 0-0 draw.
The official has handed out 20 cautions in six Premier League appearances this season, but it’s the Championship and League One where he has been heavy-handed with the discipline, giving out 33 yellows and 6 reds.
