Ronald Koeman said today in his pre-Sunderland press conference that Romelu Lukaku, James McCarthy and Kevin Mirallas are all fit again and ready to play. Everton missed the services of the latter pair in their last game against Middlesbrough, while the Lukaku missed the team trip to Dubai with a minor calf ailment.
When asked about the injury situation at the club, he said -
“It’s good, positive. Rom had some calf problems, but he’s back in training since the last three days.
“McCarthy has started training with the group again this week, and Mirallas is back as well.
Koeman also provided updates on three players that have long-term injuries.
“Dominic Calvert-Lewin will be back on Tuesday. Muhamed Besic is back in training, he’s doing some parts of training sessions. He’s on a good way to come back to the team totally as a player.
“Yannick Bolasie will get his second surgery in the beginning of March. We are fit and ready for the beginning of the weekend.”
Bolasie is expected to be out for a further eight months at least after his surgery, and is on track to return in 2018.
