Gerard Deulofeu was sent on loan to AC Milan during the January transfer window to get some game time and regain his form. He seems to have done that in spades since his move there.

The Spaniard scored his first goal for Milan yesterday, and it proved to be the winner as the Rossoneri beat Fiorentina 2-1. It was a beautiful goal too as he sliced through the middle and saw an opportunity for a shot, and then proceeded to place it beyond the despairing reach of the goalie.

After the game, this ESPN blogger waxed lyrical about his contributions -

A stunning first Milan goal for the Spaniard, as his super finish was decisive in sealing all three points. It was a shame that he lacked confidence just moments later when he could have had a second, but a positive display from the loanee as he will hopefully build on this.

Deulofeu had also sparked his side to a win over Bologna despite being reduced to nine-men a couple of weeks ago -

A brilliant effort from the Spaniard. Worked tirelessly and used his pace and trickery well. Saved his best until the final minute though as he went on a mazy run before producing the perfect assist for Pasalic. Rightfully the first man that Montella hugged after the game, and he'll hope he can build on this now.

While Everton fans can be pleased to see the forward finally hit some form, it’ll be interesting to see if all this does is to drive his sale price up as it was quite clear that there was no room for the player in Ronald Koeman’s plans.

Still a few months to go before this season ends, we’ll be keeping an eye on the Serie A and Deulofeu’s progress.
