The media is rife with reports that Everton are scouting targets to bolster their forward ranks in the summer transfer window.
The Daily Mail reported that the Blues were scouting forwards Jonathan Cafu and Federico Santander during Ludogorets’ Europa League game on Thursday against FC Copenhagen.
Jonathan Renato Barbosa, also known as Jonathan Cafu, plays for the Bulgarian club Ludogorets Razgrad as a winger, though he has often been used as the sole striker there. Ludogorets have been champions in Bulgaria for five straight seasons now, and picked up the Brazilian at the beginning of the season for £1.9m from Sau Paulo.
They are rumoured to be looking for about £12m for the 25-year-old, who is not related to the great Brazilian right back of yesteryear, also nicknamed Cafu. He has eight goals in seventeen Bulgarian League appearances, with two goals and two assists in seven Champions League and Europa League games this season.
Federico Santander is a Paraguayan international striker who joined Copenhangen at the beginning of the 2015-16 season from Club Guarani. He has 26 goals in 62 appearances for the club in various competitions, and has been the club’s top scorer and key target upfront.
Finally, the Blues are also being linked with Palermo’s striker Ilija Nestorovski. The 26-year-old Macedonian international joined the Italian side at the beginning of the current season on a four-year deal. He has scored 9 goals with 3 assists in 25 Serie A appearances for the Sicilian club. The forward has been a pretty durable player and leads the Palermo attack playing in the striker position.
The summer transfer window is still a few months away, so all of this remains utter speculation, so enjoy the videos for now and we’ll see what transpires at the end of the season.
