Everton have confirmed striker Romelu Lukaku’s absence from their warm-weather training camp is due to a calf injury.
With the Toffees not in action again for another 11 days the squad flew out to Dubai on Monday for a five-day training camp.
Lukaku was not among the travelling party and the club have now confirmed it was due to injury
Everton say Lukaku will fly back home to Belgium to receive treatment this week but stress the issue is not serious.
The club are confident the 23-year-old will be fit for the game against Sunderland at Goodison Park on February 25.
Yannick Bolasie was the only other first-team player not to make the trip as he recovers from a serious knee injury suffered in December.
