The Third Round draw for the Emirates FA Cup was concluded today, with Everton drawing Liverpool away as their first opponent in the club’s initial match of this season’s competition.

The domestic cup represents the last possibility of the Blues still being able to make something of the 2017-18 season, and Sam Allardyce indicated as much in his opening press conference. You can expect Everton to put out a strong side as long as they remain in the FA Cup.
Unfortunately, the draw also represents some absolutely horrendous luck. After drawing Chelsea away in the Carabao Cup, the news for the FA Cup is just as bad, if not worse.
The match will be played the weekend of 6/7 January, at Anfield. That will be just 27 or 28 days after the Toffees’ first Anfield derby this season, which comes on Sunday.
If the 2017-18 season wasn’t interesting enough for you, it certainly is now.
