Turkish outlet Haber Turk are reporting that forward Cenk Tosun has traveled to London with his wife on Saturday following what appears to be a successful conclusion in talks between Everton Director of Football Steve Walsh and Besiktas vice-chairman Ahmet Nur Cebi.
A couple of days ago it appeared that the negotiations seemed to be falling apart after the Blues had balked at the Turkish club’s demands of £25million for Tosun, with the Toffees willing to go up to £20m.
However, once news broke that AS Roma, Valencia and RB Leipzig were also circling, Walsh flew out to Turkey to seal the deal. Other Turkish sources add that Everton appear to have now met the valuation and the transfer is close to completion.
Tosun was initially scheduled to spend New Year’s Day with his wife on a vacation in Dubai, but those plans have changed to London now. The pair apparently flew into England yesterday with the expectation that the striker will be on Merseyside on Tuesday January 2nd to finalize the paperwork.
It’s never easy with Everton in the transfer window, is it?
