Final Verdict:
Sam Allardyce continues to frustrate fans with his lineup selections that look like he’s trying hard to avoid defeat instead of actually attempting to win games - picking three defensive midfielders, two of them coming off injury was a risky move.
It showed too early in the game, with both McCarthy and Gueye often getting the ball but not finding any outlets for the ball. A giveaway soon after the half hour mark allowed the hosts behind the backline and Fraser was wide open to volley home the opening goal for Bournemouth to lead at the break 1-0.
Oumar Niasse came on in the second half and made an instant impression, feeding Idrissa Gueye for the Blues equalizer.
However, the hosts continued to sbow more attacking endeavour and scored again with just minutes to go, Ryan Fraser getting his second of the game from a deflection.
