Everton will be without suspended Tom Davies and Oumar Niasse for today’s trip to Southampton. Davies is out after picking up five cautions while Niasse has been controversially handed a two-match ban for simulation following a panel review.
As far as injuries go, there’s nothing new to report for the Toffees as Ross Barkley and James McCarthy are both close to returning but not ready to be in the squad as yet. In a good sign for the Blues though, winger Yannick Bolasie has returned to training while Seamus Coleman is also nearing a return.
Former Saint Morgan Schneiderlin played the first half of last weekend’s game against Crystal Palace despite carrying a toe injury, and could face a late fitness test ahead of the game.
Their hosts Southampton are also missing a midfielder through suspension, with Oriol Romeu out. Defender Matt Targett is still out with a leg injury while Mario Lemina and Jeremy Pied are going to be late decisions as well.
