Everton Ladies continue their Continental Cup campaign on Thursday against Oxford United at home. The Blue Girls have had a successful tournament so far, winning 2 out of 3 games. A win could clinch a spot in the next round, which will be the knockout stages.
The Toffees are coming off of a comfortable 2-0 win over Yeovil Town while Oxford United are currently in 5th place in the WSL 2.
Chloe Kelly is confident that they will get the win:
"The pressure probably is on us but pressure is actually quite good sometimes and we thrive off it and I think we can play great football in that game and get three points.
I'm really confident of us going through and I think we can go far because we have a great team, given great performances and in the cup we have got the points on the board.”
What to look for in the lineup:
Chloe Kelly and Courtney Sweetman-Kirk have impressed as of late and are likely to start. The backline will certainly include Georgia Brougham, Gabby George, and Danielle Turner. Goalkeepers, Lizzie Durack and Kirstie Levell, have both been in rotation and are fighting for the #1 spot. Simone Magill scored the last time Everton played Oxford United and will be looking for a repeat performance on Thursday.
Not Too Shabby:
- This team is not short on goals; in 8 games so far, they have scored 10 times.
- They have had 3 wins so far, all clean sheets.
Prediction:
Everton win 3-0
