Everton target Morgan Schneiderlin has said goodbye to his Manchester United teammates ahead of a move to Goodison Park, according to the Manchester Evening News. The Frenchman has been linked with a move to Merseyside for several months, with Ronald Koeman reportedly keen on reuniting with his former Southampton star.

Reports on Friday claimed that he had travelled to Finch Farm to complete medical ahead of his move. However, no deal has been completed, with later claims that the Blues were haggling over £2million in the asking price.

That led to Ronald Koeman complaining about a lack of movement in his post-match conference on Saturday afternoon. The Manchester Evening News have now provided an update on the situation and say the move is still very much on.

They report that a source has told them that Schneiderlin did indeed complete a medical on Friday but the deal is being held up by Everton’s negotiations over a ‘baseline fee’.

The player has, however, said goodbye to his Manchester United teammates and the deal is expected to go through at some stage.

Blues fans will be hoping that is sooner rather than later after watching Gareth Barry struggle in the centre of midfield in Saturday’s loss to Leicester City.
